The start of the Great London Fire in the bakery by Thomas Faynor

Thomas Faynor was the kings personal baker, which was King Charles the Second.  The fire was started in Thomas Faynor's bakery a little after midnight on Sunday, September 2, 1666. The bakery was located on Pudding Lane. There was a small fire in Faynor's bakery, but he said he put it out before he went to bed. He woke up to the smell of smoke, quickly realizing that the house was on fire! Quickly the fire spread rapidly west of London. It so also happened that they were in the middle of a drought, the perfect time for a fire. The mid to high class houses were all made out of wood, and since it was dried out from the drought it was ten times more flammable. The lower class houses were made out of tar which was a lot more flammable than the wood at that time.
